RetrievalNumber Property

The retrieval reference number (RRN) used to identify a transaction.

Syntax

 tsyshcreversal.getRetrievalNumber([callback])
 tsyshcreversal.setRetrievalNumber( retrievalNumber, [callback])

Default Value

""

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for the getRetrievalNumber([callback]) method is defined as:

function(err, data){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'data' is the value returned by the method.

The callback for the setRetrievalNumber([callback]) method is defined as:

function(err){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

This property is used to specify the retrieval reference number (RRN) for the transaction that you wish to retrieve or adjust. This value is used by the Host Capture system to identify the transaction.

Note either RetrievalNumber or TransactionNumber may be used to reference the transaction that is to be retrieved, adjusted or voided. If both are supplied, the RetrievalNumber will be used and the TransactionNumber ignored.

In the case of performing level 3 or settlement transactions, TransactionNumber is not supported and thus RetrievalNumber must be used to reference the transaction.
