GetPaymentDetails Method

Retrieves details about a payment transaction.

Syntax

adaptivepaymentdetails.getPaymentDetails([callback])

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for this method is defined as:

function(err){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

Specify the payment you're interested in using either the PaymentKey, TransactionId, or TrackingId. It is not recommended to specify more than one of these properties, unless they identify the same payment. If the properties do not belong to the same payment, the TransactionId is used; next, PayPal uses the PaymentKey. If more than one of these is specified, the TrackingId is never used.

Note that a payment can also be identified as a set of PayPal transactions between the sender and each specific receiver. You can retrieve information about one specific transaction in the set by specifying the TransactionId. PaymentKey and TrackingId are used to specify the full payment request.
