FedExMgr Class

Properties   Methods   Events   Configuration Settings   Errors

Provides a way to subscribe a provider with FedEx Web Services and to register a CSP user with FedEx.

Syntax

inship.fedexmgr()

Remarks

With this class you can perform the following:

  • Subscribe with FedEx to obtain a unique meter number specific to the FedEx customer's account number.
  • Register a CSP user and obtain a CSP end-user specific key and password.

To subscribe a customer's FedEx account number for FedEx Web Services, you will have to send a subscription request by calling the Subscribe method. This is a one-time only request. A unique FedExMeterNumber specific to the customer's FedEx account number will be returned to the client. This FedExMeterNumber returned in the response, should be used in all subsequent requests sent to FedEx Web Services as part of the user authentication. The response will also include which FedEx Web services are authorized (RegisteredServices) for that particular FedEx Account.

A registration process is applicable to CSP developers and users only. To register a CSP user, use the RegisterCSPUser method. Via this method, the descriptive data is sent to FedEx by the customer to obtain the end user authentication credentials required to use FedEx Web Services.

This is typically a one-time only request for each customer. A unique key and password will be returned to the client in the reply. This end user key and password (FedExCSPUserKey and FedExCSPUserPassword) inherits the services enabled for the CSP credentials and must be passed in all subsequent requests sent to FedEx Web Services.

To use this class, you must have a valid FedEx FedExAccountNumber.

The restrictions on the allowed property values are listed separately under each control property description. If the user enters more than the allowed number of characters, an error will not be generated. The control will simply pass in the characters up to the maximum amount allowed and disregard the rest. This is important since the resulting value could prevent a correct response.
