WebSocket Component

Properties   Methods   Events   Configuration Settings   Errors

The WebSocket component is used to establish a WebSocket connection to a server.

Syntax

nsoftware.IPWorks.Websocket

Remarks

The WebSocket component supports both plaintext and SSL/TLS connections. When connecting over SSL/TLS the SSLServerAuthentication event allows you to check the server identity and other security attributes. The SSLStatus event provides information about the SSL handhsake. Additional SSL related settings are also supported via the Config method.

The WebSocket component provides a simple way to establish a WebSocket connection to a server. The server must support the WebSocket protocol. After the connection is established data can be sent and received.

To begin, call the Connect method. After the connection is established you can send and receive data in a variety of ways. To send data you may set the DataToSend property or call Send, SendFile, or SendText. Data is received via the DataIn event.

The component also supports sending and receive data through the use of streams. The SetReceiveStream and SetSendStream methods may be used to specify a stream for sending or receiving.
