Add-SevenZip Cmdlet

Parameters   Output Objects   Configuration Settings

The Add-SevenZip cmdlet allows for the appending of a file to an existing 7z archive.

Syntax

Add-SevenZip [parameters]

Remarks

To add one or more files to a pre-existing 7z archive, set the Input parameter to the list of files to add and the Output parameter to the the target archive.

The cmdlets support pipeline input for some of their parameters. Prebuilding an object and piping it to the cmdlet is very useful, but should be used with caution to prevent security conflicts. Steps have been taken to decrease the risk of a possibly accidental pipe to the cmdlet, for instance, the Credential parameter cannot be piped to the cmdlet and must be specified manually.

# add the contents of a directory to an existing .7z archive
Add-SevenZip -Input "C:/temp" -Output "archive.7z" -Recurse
