LastUpdate Property

Date and time of last update to account information on the server.

Syntax

 account.getLastUpdate([callback])
 account.setLastUpdate( lastUpdate, [callback])

Default Value

""

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for the getLastUpdate([callback]) method is defined as:

function(err, data){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'data' is the value returned by the method.

The callback for the setLastUpdate([callback]) method is defined as:

function(err){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

This is a string representing the last update date at which the account information was changed on the server. This is required to be provided when calling GetInfo. It is returned in the response as well indicating the last time a server updated the information. This is the value that can be used in a subsequent account information request. The server compares it to the current modification time and only send information if it is more recent. The server sends the entire account information response if the LastUpdate provided in the request is older. There is no attempt to incrementally update specific account information.

If the LastUpdate is set to a date later than the time when the actual update occurred, the request will still be considered successful, but no account information will be returned. The server response will contain a message (such as: "Client is up-to-date", etc.), which will be stored in ServerMessage config setting.

All input dates should be entered in the format specified by DateFormat. For example, if the DateFormat is set to "MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss" (default value), an input date should look like: 09/30/2009 12:00:00 AM.

This format specifies also how the returned dates are going to get parsed.
