DeleteContainer Method

Deletes the container and any blobs that it contains.

Syntax

azureblob.deleteContainer([callback])

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for this method is defined as:

function(err){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

This method will delete the container specified by ContainerName and any blobs that are stored within it.

Note when a container is deleted, a container with the same name cannot be created for at least 30 seconds. The container may not be available for more than 30 seconds if the service is still processing the request. While the container is being deleted, attempts to create a container of the same name will fail. All other operations, including operations on any blobs within the container, will fail too while the container is being deleted.
