GetLink Method

Creates a link to access a blob for the amount of seconds specified.

Syntax

azureblob.getLink(blobName, expires, [callback])

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for this method is defined as:

function(err, data){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'data' is the value returned by the method.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

This method can be used to create URLs with a Shared Access Signature to allow access to blobs for a limited time and with limited permissions.

The BlobName parameter specifies the name of the blob to create the link for.

The Expires parameter specifies the number of seconds that the link is valid for.

The default permission for the blob specified is "r" (Read).

Note that AccessKey, Account, and ContainerName must be specified before calling this method.
