GetLink Method

Creates a link that provides access to an object for a specified amount of time.

Syntax

digitalocean.getLink(objectName, expires, [callback])

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for this method is defined as:

function(err, data){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'data' is the value returned by the method.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

This method creates and returns a pre-authenticated link that provides access to the object specified by ObjectName in the bucket currently selected by Bucket. If the VersionId property is non-empty, a link is created for the specified version of the object.

The Expires parameter specifies how many seconds the link should be valid for. The maximum validity period is seven days.

Note that this method is an offline method that simply generates a pre-signed URL; no communication with the server takes place.
