Syntax

 ppop.getMailServer([callback])
 ppop.setMailServer( mailServer, [callback])

""

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for the getMailServer([callback]) method is defined as:

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'data' is the value returned by the method.

The callback for the setMailServer([callback]) method is defined as:

function(err){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

This property specifies the IP address (IP number in dotted internet format) or the Domain Name of the mail server. It is set before a connection is attempted and cannot be changed once a connection is in progress.

If this; property is set to a Domain Name, a DNS request is initiated and upon successful termination of the request, this property is set to the corresponding address. If the search is not successful the class fails with an error.

If the class is configured to use a SOCKS firewall, the value assigned to this property may be preceded with an "*". If this is the case, the host name is passed to the firewall unresolved and the firewall performs the DNS resolution.
