EncryptAndSign Method

Encrypts and signs a buffer.

Syntax

pgpwriter.encryptAndSign(buffer_Buffer, startIndex, count, [callback])

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for this method is defined as:

function(err, buffer){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'buffer' is the value returned by the method.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

Use this method to encrypt and sign a byte array and get the protected message in another byte array.

Specify encryption keys in EncryptingKeys property, and/or encryption password via Passphrase property. Use SigningKeys to provide the signing keys.

Please note that you might need to provide a passphrase to decrypt your signing key. This can be done via KeyPassphraseNeeded event, or by assigning the passphrase to the key object's Passphrase property.
