ProcessGenericRequest Method

Processes a generic timestamp request.

Syntax

tspserver.processGenericRequest(requestBytes_Buffer, timeTokenOnly, [callback])

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for this method is defined as:

function(err, buffer){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'buffer' is the value returned by the method.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

This method processes a generic timestamping request and produces a response. Use it to generate timestamps for requests obtained externally, out of the default HTTP channel.

This method respects all current settings of the server object, and invokes TimestampRequest to consult about the request and response details with the application.

If TimeTokenOnly is set, the return value will only contain the TimeStampToken piece of the response. If it is switched off, the whole TimeStampResp structure will be returned.
