KeyUsageFlags Property

Flags that show the intended use for the key.

Syntax

 keymgr.getKeyUsageFlags([callback])

Callback

The 'callback' parameter specifies a function which will be called when the operation completes (or an error is encountered). If the 'callback' parameter is not specified, then the method will block and will not return until the operation completes (or an error is encountered).

The callback for the getKeyUsageFlags([callback]) method is defined as:

function(err, data){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'data' is the value returned by the method.

The callback for the setKeyUsageFlags([callback]) method is defined as:

function(err){ }

'err' is the error that occurred. If there was no error, then 'err' is 'null'.

'err' has 2 properties which hold detailed information:

err.code
err.message

Remarks

Flags that show the intended use for the key. The default value is 0x0F. The value of KeyUsageFlags is a combination of the following flags:

0x01This key may be used to certify other keys.
0x02This key may be used to sign data.
0x0CThis key may be used to encrypt communications and encrypt storage.
0x10The private component of this key may have been split by a secret-sharing mechanism.
0x20This key may be used for authentication.
0x80The private component of this key may be in the possession of more than one person.
