create_queue Method

Creates an SQS queue.

Syntax

def create_queue(queue_name: str) -> str: ...

Remarks

A queue with the specified name is created.

on_create_queue returns a queue id assigned to the queue. This can then be used to create_message or delete_queue.

If the QueueName ends with .fifo, the queue will be created as a FIFO queue. Alternatively, if the UseFIFOQueues configuration setting is enabled, the class will always attempt to create FIFO queues, appending .fifo to the given QueueName if necessary (all FIFO queues' names must have that suffix).
