Get Method

Fetches the document using the HTTP GET method.

Syntax

int Get(const QString& qsURL);

Remarks

This method fetches the document using the HTTP GET method. The document contents are delivered to the component and parsed. The XPath, XElement, XText, etc. or the TransferredData property can then be used to traverse the data. The HTTP response headers are returned through the Header event. If LocalFile is not empty the data (not the headers) is written there as well.

Error Handling

This method returns a result code; 0 indicates success, while a non-zero error code indicates that this method encountered an error during its execution. If an error occurs, the GetLastError() method can be called to retrieve the associated error message. (Note: This method's result code can also be obtained by calling the GetLastErrorCode() method after it returns.)

The XPath, XElement, XText, etc. or the TransferredData property can then be used to traverse the data. The HTTP response headers are returned through the Header event. If LocalFile is not empty the data (not the headers) is written there as well. Error Handling This method returns a result code; `0` indicates success, while a non-zero error code indicates that this method encountered an error during its execution. If an error occurs, the `GetLastError()` method can be called to retrieve the associated error message.
